Artur Balzas’ account

Artur Balazs, born January 3, 1952 in Ełk – a Polish politician, member of the parliament of its I, III, and IV terms, a senator of the III term. Minister in several governments. He graduated in 1985 from the Zoo-technical Faculty of the Agricultural Academy in Szczecin. Before 1980 he was a member of the PZPR (United Polish Workers’ Party). In 1980 and after the reactivation he was among the founders and leaders of the NSZZ “Solidarity” of the Individual Farmers. During the Martial Law he was put into internment for about a year.
